November 14 - February 1
This exhibit features a newly commissioned painting, Moviegoers, painted by Lizzy Kramer '26.
As the Majestic spends its season celebrating its 100th birthday on November 14, 2025, stop by to take in 100 Majestic Years as told through original architecture, an historical timeline, pre-restoration photos, and a newly commissioned painting that blends the past and the present. Through these pieces, we remember and honor the moments and people that made the Majestic what it is today.
Complimentarily, the final gallery wall showcases Martha Graham Dance Company, who will be performing at the Majestic Theater on February 13, 2026. Martha Graham was a pioneer in the world of dance, and her pieces continue to resonate in present day. The Majestic Art Gallery's display includes two photos from the piece Immediate Tragedy, both of Martha Graham herself and current dancer, Anne Souder. Recreated in 2020 from historic photographs and new music by Christopher Roundtree, Immediate Tragedy remains a powerful work and testament to determination and resilience. As artists and patrons engage with her legacy's work all over the world, we are given an example on how the first breakthrough can still make waves in the future.
While we celebrate the Majestic Theater's grand past, we also look towards its bright future.
This exhibit is made possible thanks in part to The Library of Congress, Martha Graham Resources, and the Martha Graham Dance Company.
