With opening act Emily Barker

In a career that has spanned over three decades, Mary Chapin Carpenter has consistently topped Billboard’s US Country charts with songs like “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” and “Down At The Twist and Shout.” She identifies equally with singer-songwriters like Steve Earle, Tom Waits, and Lucinda Williams, whose song “Passionate Kisses” Carpenter covered and counts among her many hits.  A Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer, Carpenter has recorded 14 albums and sold over 14 million records. She has won five Grammy Awards (with 15 nominations), two CMA awards, and two Academy of Country Music awards. Her latest album, “Sometimes Just the Sky,” out March 30th 2018, is a re-imagining of her songs written across the decades, recorded with new and old friends who circled together in a wooden room and made music in real time. What we hear is precisely what was played and sung. There’s a song originally recorded for each of Carpenter’s original studio albums and one new one.

Emily Barker playing guitar Emily Barker is perhaps best known as the writer and performer of the award-winning theme to PBS Masterpiece crime drama "Wallander" starring Kenneth Branagh. The UK-based Australian singer-songwriter has released music as a solo artist as well as with various bands including The Red Clay Halo, Vena Portae and Applewood Road (with whom she released a remarkable album of original songs recorded live around a single microphone, which was dubbed “flawless” by The Sunday Times).
