Joined by a band of stellar musicians, and charismatic tap dancer, AC Lincoln, she will have the audience on their feet in a soulful celebration of Emancipation befitting the whole family and the entire community. The evening will begin with local artists, highlighting the immense local talent of our community. Come early to learn about Gettysburg-based Black owned businesses, and to visit with the community.
Experience an unforgettable two-day event in Gettysburg, PA to come together and honor our shared history. Celebrate Black resilience and recognize the ongoing fight for justice this Juneteenth with educational programs, performances, and community engagement that highlight the importance of the holiday and the significance of Black history in shaping the country.
In 1865, Juneteenth marked the day when the last enslaved people in the United States were informed of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Today, Juneteenth amplifies Black voices, honors those who came before, and highlights the struggles still facing society today.
