The Sunderman Conservatory Wind Symphony will perform its 2024 Masterworks concert, featuring the commissioning consortium premiere of Armando Bayolo’s Dispatches from the Anthropocene, Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F, and a piece by Gettysburg College’s very own, Professor Avner Dorman. Spices, Perfumes, Toxins!, Dorman’s piece, arranged by Dr. Amanda Heim, will be performed with percussion soloists Zoey Cobb and John Tadlock. The concert will also feature a performance from the Conservatory’s Percussion Ensemble, directed by Professor Parker Fadoul.
The Wind Symphony is the premier wind and percussion ensemble in the Sunderman Conservatory of Music. Conducted by Director of Bands Dr. Russell McCutcheon and comprised of a select group of 40-50 musicians, the ensemble rehearses and performs some of the best new literature and wind band masterworks.
Tickets will be available starting one week prior to the show at the Box Office, 25 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, or by calling (717) 337-8200.
